J systems are available for a number of platforms and can be installed and redistributed for free.
J is available as a base system plus optional addon library packages.
The base system is the minimal system for running J applications. It includes two user interfaces:
- Jconsole, a command-line front-end
- JHS, a browser-based IDE - an Interactive Development Environment
A Qt-based graphical user interface is also available in the addons.
Once installed, all updates can be done with pacman (package manager).
Most users should install J903.
Work with 904 beta became available in late 2022. Adventurous users should install J904.
If you already run J904-beta, then upgrade is easy:
J902 - previous release
You are encouraged to use J903, but if you need J902, install J902.
See Archived for earlier versions.
